  1. Everytime I watch my son sleeping I have that moment. It reminds me that I am utterly clueless and helpless without my Father.

  2. I meet with Jesus first thing in the morning…or nearly the first thing! My day just goes smoother because of it! I have to do it before my kids are up or it just doesn’t happen.
What a coincidence…I am writing about this on my blog this week! Because it has transformed my life so radically, keeping a daily quiet time is something I feel very passionate about.
Thanks for the great post! Have a great week!

  3. I feel like I tried every trick in the book to find a piece of quiet time. With a baby and a preschooler there’s always somebody who needs something from Mommy. A friend told me that she tries her tricks, but she prays that God would give her wisdom to order her day so that she can catch that quiet time. She prays “Lord, give me Your peace in my heart even if the decibel level in my home is hurting my ears.”

  4. I find myself “envious” of those that can actually get up early and spend time with Him. These days I am dragging out of bed to get started by 8. I have been doing quick 5-10 min devotions and I know it is not enough for me. better than nothing? Sure, but it is sad to me. I can’t keep “blaming” this and that for not getting up early. I just need to do it. Please pray for me. I feel myself getting down about this “situation” we are in—in a town where we have no friends or fellowship for over 2 years. I have many friends, they just live in different states :0). I know this will all work out but I allow myself to grow weary. Silly me….BTW, I did LOVE this post. Something I so needed to hear! Enjoy this beautiful fall day. At least it is around here in NE PA!!!

  5. What a wonderful post and a wonderful blog! I am so thankful to have found it. It’s so hard for me to find that quiet time during the day. When you have children (3 in my case) you are constantly needed. Our children tend to be extremely joyful (or loud) too 🙂
My goal everyday is to find time to be in the Word. My Utmost For His Highest online. I have it on my toolbar. At the end of each day’s devotion there is a link to a daily scripture reading. It helps also, to TRY to remain in a spirit of worship and prayer throughout the day. The world is my prayer closet!

  6. What a beautiful post Lisa! Love the REDEEMED necklace! I am new, very new to Christianity, and am still sorting it all out. I sometimes wonder in the mist of all the craziness and insanity, what would HE do?
HE is currently helping me let go of my heavy heart, guilt, and old burdens. Really for the first time in my 31 years of life, I don’t feel like I am at rock bottom anymore.

  7. When my hubby leaves to take our daughter to school, I have at that point eaten and (hopefully) showered. Before I turn on my computer or my work phone, I take at least 30 mins to work through a devotional and prayer journal. It’s a must-do. If I don’t start out the day like that, it’s a disaster and God gets lost in the shuffle!

  8. I can’t wait. I have been focusing on redemption and the ways that God has redeemed me and then I saw this! This necklace is the only item on my Christmas list…if I can wait until then!!

  9. oh this very thing has been on my heart. I feel like I am on fast forward and my day begins at 5:45 and most days it is a quick prayer and that is never enough…which leads to guilt and I have tried before bed as it seems to be quiet but it has not become habit..so I am interested in hearing how others do it so I can get back into routine.
